I first connected with Parker through TikTok, and after hearing about their plans for a Secrets Playa Blanca wedding in Mexico, I couldn’t wait to be a part of their day.
When Parker and Ross explained their wedding plans to me, they envisioned more than just a single day of celebration. They wanted to kick off the multi-day event with a welcome party on the beach, and spend their wedding morning having breakfast together, an idea I was absolutely obsessed with.
From a beachfront rehearsal party and a poolside reception, every part of their wedding felt intentional, joyful, and effortlessly fun.
Secrets Playa Blanca Wedding | The Night Before
One of my favorite parts about destination weddings is how the celebration extends beyond just the wedding day.
I stayed on-site at Secrets Playa Blanca, and we kicked off the start of Parker and Ross’s multi-day celebration during their rehearsal party the evening before the wedding.
Of course, they both dressed to the max. Parker wore a pink sequined dress that she said made her “feel like a fish” (in the best way). Ross wore a green pinstripe suit which was such a vibe and complimented Parker’s dress.
As the sun set on the beach, guests mingled in bright tropical colors, shared drinks, and enjoyed live music as they danced the night away. I think it was the perfect start to this epic Secrets Playa Blanca wedding celebration.
Tropical Wedding Details Inspired by Cancun
After joining Parker and Ross for their wedding morning coffee and breakfast, I spent some time photographing their details.
One of my favorite elements was their handcrafted invitation suite, beautifully designed by Fossil Wedding Invitations. Not only did the design set the tone for the wedding, but it also blended personalized touches with tropical inspiration, giving guests a glimpse into the beauty of Cancun.
Throughout the day, vibrant colors were put into every detail. From rich chartreuse and avocado greens to tropical florals and organic textures, their design felt perfectly at home against the warm palapa oranges and turquoise waters of Secrets Playa Blanca.
From their rings and meaningful jewelry to the carefully selected stationary and personal touches like Ross’s turkey feather bow tie, every detail felt intentional and reflective of their personalities. Altogether, the design struck the perfect balance between tropical fun and elegance.
Getting Ready at Secrets Playa Blanca
The wedding morning was joyful, relaxed, and filled with excitement.
Parker spent the morning getting ready with her family in the resorts wedding suite, a beautiful space with plenty of room for everyone to spend time together.
Meanwhile, Ross got ready in their hotel room where the balcony overlooked the ocean. Because everything was conveniently located on-site, the day flowed effortlessly from one moment to the next without the stress of traveling between locations.
A First Look in the Plaza & Formal Portraits
Before the ceremony, Parker and Ross shared a private first look in the resort’s plaza.
This gave them a quiet moment to themselves to soak everything in and take portraits together before the day continued.
We ended this time together with a first look between Parker and her dad, and formal family portraits.
Secrets Playa Blanca Wedding | An Oceanfront Ceremony
Following their first look and family portraits, guests gathered along the beach as Parker and Ross exchanged vows overlooking the ocean.
With waves in the background and endless ocean views behind them, the ceremony felt both intimate and breathtaking.
Altogether, it was a beautiful moment filled with perfect weather, stunning scenery, and their favorite people gathered in one incredible place.
Poolside Cocktails and a Reception Under the Stars
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour while we captured additional portraits around the resort.
Then, as the sun began to set, everyone gathered at the poolside reception tables for dinner. The tropical color palette carried beautifully into the reception design, creating a vibrant atmosphere that felt both elevated and welcoming.
From there, guests enjoyed dinner, a heartfelt speech, and plenty of time on the dance floor. Between the laughter, dancing, and excitement of having all their favorite people together in one place, the reception felt like the perfect continuation of their celebration.
Ending the Night in the Ocean
As the reception came to a close, Parker and Ross weren’t quite ready for the night to end.
From there, we made our way back to the beach where they ran straight into the ocean, jumping and laughing with each wave.
These carefree moments often become some of the most memorable parts of a wedding day. When all the planning is done, and you can fully let go and be present.
Before saying goodnight, we returned to their room for a few final photographs together. After a day filled with excitement, laughter, and unforgettable moments, it was the perfect way to end their wedding day and soak in the reality that they were finally married.
