Hey there friends,

I’m Danielle, Your Florida Elopement Photographer

growing up, i always knew i'd reached paradise when i saw the palm trees

I’ve spent the last 5+ years helping my couples achieve their goals of making their wedding day an epic adventure, completely customized to them and their vision.

So, you’ve decided to elope in the sunshine paradise known as Florida. I get it – picking the perfect destination wasn’t easy. Maybe you’re going back home to Florida for your big day, or taking a leap and choosing a new place you’ve never visited before – and that can be a tough decision! But I’m here to tell you, you just made the best decision ever.
I decided to shift my expertise to Florida micro weddings and elopements because I truly understand just how amazing this place is—from exploring the lively streets of Miami, parasailing over Key West, to watching dolphins in Destin. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Now I'm here to help you do the same.

all you need to know about eloping in florida

The best time to go is Spring (March to May) or Fall (October to November). I personally love spring for Florida elopements. From shooting at the beach and in venues to gardens, this time of year is great because the humidity is low, the evenings are cooler, accommodations are cheaper, and there are fewer crowds. As May approaches, you'll find vibrant flowers in bloom, and the weather is warm enough to swim while enjoying clear skies and longer daylight.

Typically late summer into fall (June to November). This time of year has a higher chance of storms, with the peak of hurricane season occurring between August and September. Afternoon showers are common in the warmer months from May onward, but they typically last only an hour or two.

Yes! All of my Florida micro wedding and elopement packages include travel, regardless of where in Florida you tie the knot!

Of course not! Your day is entirely custom to you and how you choose to spend it—whether that means eloping just the two of you at Washington Oaks Gardens or celebrating with friends and family at Casa Marina. All of my packages are designed to cover your day, no matter if you choose to have friends and family present or not.

The first step to legalizing your marriage in Florida is to apply for a marriage license. If you are from out of state, this process can be started online prior to arriving. Alternatively, you can wait until you arrive and visit a County Clerk’s Office. If you are a resident of Florida, there is a 3-day waiting period for the license.

The Best Places to Elope in Florida

jacksonville - Casa Marina Hotel & Restaurant

Jacksonville boasts miles of coastline with beautiful beaches like Jacksonville Beach and Amelia Island. Compared to other popular Florida destinations, Jacksonville offers more budget-friendly elopement options and mild temperatures.

Located on Jacksonville Beach, Casa Marina is a quaint hotel and restaurant that feels as if you’ve just stepped into a Santorini dream.

With a stunning courtyard ceremony space, a rooftop bar, onsite hotel suites for getting ready, and a warm, aesthetically pleasing reception area for your friends and family, this venue offers a complete package for your wedding day.

book an airbnb in your favorite city

I recommend staying in St. Augustine if you plan to elope at Washington Oaks Gardens. St. Augustine is located in the northeastern part of Florida. It is the oldest city in the U.S. and is rich in history. With cobblestone streets, and historic architecture, the city offers a romantic and timeless setting.

Located a half an hour outside of St. Augustine, Washington Oaks Gardens is the perfect lush setting for your elopement day. The can accommodate just the two of you or your closest friends and family, and you can hold your ceremony there from 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. To see their roses in full bloom, I recommend considering late April into early May for vibrant gardens and milder temperatures.

Advance reservation and permits are required.

Hosting your wedding in an Airbnb has become increasingly popular—and it's easy to see why! When you choose to rent for your wedding day, you are:

- Combining lodging and your venue
- Personalizing your space exactly how you want it
- Choosing your ideal backdrop (perhaps in the lively streets of Miami or secluded on the beaches of Destin)
- Creating a backup space in case of bad weather

With so many areas to choose from in Florida, the main points you want to focus on are: the type of setting you want, checking the Airbnb policies to ensure they allow events, and deciding what types of excursions you'd like to include in your day!
This stunning Airbnb elopement took place in St. Augustine in a quaint cottage-style home, decorated with bright whites and blues to evoke the feel of Greece, and featuring a large backyard overlooking the water.

"Danielle travelled all the way to Maine for our mini wedding/elopement. She made us feel extremely comfortable through all our day. I never know what to do in front of the camera and she made it easy. She recommended great poses/shots which are my absolute favorites of us. She was simultaneously incredibly professional yet warm, fun, and went along with all our antics. She also had our portfolio back sooo fast! We couldn’t have asked for anyone better."

“What can I even say about working with Danielle, other than that she is absolutely AMAZING? Danielle is so creative and has such a clear, gorgeous vision. She worked hard to understand our creative vision for our wedding, too. She was genuinely invested in us and in our day, and in doing her part to make it amazing (which she absolutely did!)
Not only is she incredibly talented and creative, but she put our minds at ease the whole day. She was so supportive and helpful at every turn. Our wedding was honestly everything I ever dreamed of & more, and Danielle played a huge, huge part in its success. I ABSOLUTELY cannot recommend her highly enough.
