Wedding at The Brook | Lizzie & Logan

On Saturday, April 27th, 2024 Lizzie and Logan held their wedding at The Brook in Marengo, Ohio.

This was a beautiful spring wedding, utilizing the venues lush green woods, open air reception venue, and outdoor ceremony space.

A little backstory for these two lovebirds. Lizzie and Logan met in collage and ran on the same track team. They have been together for 7 years and are honestly the cutest couple. Their love for one another radiated throughout the day and night.

Without a doubt their wedding at The Brook was nothing short of perfect. From their emotion filled vows, sentimental speeches from many good friends, and warm embraces throughout the night, it was obvious how much they love one another and how much love others have for their relationship.

I’m so excited to share their wedding at The Brook with you!

Wedding at The Brook | Getting Ready

To kick off this epic day, Lizzie and Logan got ready on site at The Brook in the Sycamore Shack. The Brook offers a beautiful upstairs suite for the girls to get ready in with a kitchen, bathroom, full length mirror, vanity area, and changing room. Meanwhile, a rustic downstairs suite was available for Logan and his men to get ready in.

The girls exchanged letters, hugged, and celebrated with champagne before I took Logan down for their first look.

An Intimate, Private First Look in The Woods

Next we walked down to The Brook, a secluded woodsy area by the creek. I thought this was the perfect, quiet, and vibrant green area for their first look together.

Next, we did portraits along the trail and by the creek.

This was my favorite spot in the venue. Being a photographer who loves the outdoors and lush green spaces, I was blown away by the outdoor beauty that The Brook has to offer.

Wedding at The Brook | The Chapel Ceremony

The Brook has two places for outdoor ceremonies: The Chapel where Lizzie and Logan got married, and the other is a small ceremony spot down in the creek.

Without a doubt I think the Chapel is the perfect spot to hold your ceremony because I was able to access phenomenal shots from all angles, and the backdrop is stunning with tall trees and greenery.

Also, don’t miss the flower man! This was such a fun and special touch to their ceremony.

For their day they asked their wedding party to sit during the ceremony after they walked down the aisle. I personally love this idea and hope to see more of it in my future weddings. I truly feel it allows your wedding party to still be that significant part to the day while giving you and your partner a moment to yourselves up at the alter together. In addition, it allows me to capture amazing views I normally may not get when a wedding party stands!

After exchanging vows, sealing the deal with a kiss, and being pronounced husband and wife, they gathered around friends and family to ring to bell and cheer!

Did Someone Say PARTY?

After the ceremony ended we did a round of family portraits and then Lizzie and Logan joined in their family and friends for cocktail hour.

Both cocktail hour and the reception were held in the covered Pavilion. I loved the concept of this open air outdoor space because as the sun began to set it was a beautiful setting for speeches and cupcake smashing.

Obviously their friends and family know how to party! The night was full of epic dance moves, laughter, slow dances, and contagious high energy vibes.

Two of Logan’s groomsmen put together a joint speech and it was one of the best speeches I’ve heard. I definitely recommend having your guys tag team a speech so they can “argue” over who is the number one best friend. There were so many good stories about Logan and Lizzie incorporated into their friends and family speeches, it was moving to see just how much these two light up the lives of their friends.

Of course you can’t end the night without taking a few portraits under the string lights outside the Pavilion!

This wedding at The Brook will live rent free in my mind forever and it wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing team of vendors who brought it all together:
